Episode 9 is filled with a life saving competition, redundant searching, and continued conspiracies. Hoon’s attention is once again focused on Seung Hee, now that he’s convinced Jae Hee and Seung Hee are the same person. My long list of questions continue to grow while any answers I seek seem to remain far, far away. Let’s hope for more progress in episode 10!
Hoon Almost Flees from the Operating Room
After hearing that Seung Hee is at gunpoint, Hoon bolts from the operating room just as the surgery is about to begin.
But the baby!
Thankfully, Hoon decides to stay, mostly because he knows Seung Hee would want him to save the infant.
The Jae Hee/Seung Hee Mystery Continues
Seung Hee may not have reveled her true identity to the audience, but it looks like the Prime Minister now knows the answer he was looking for. Whatever he learned, his response that Hoon is a pitiful boy does not reassure me at all.
The Competition Begins
After a tense moment where it looks like Seung Hee won’t show up for the operation, she appears, much to the relief of Hoon. Hoon’s team may be behind, but luckily Seung Hee’s skills largely make up for the lost time.
The rules are simple. The surgery must be completed within 45 minutes or else the baby will die. In addition, whichever team finishes first will be declared the winner. Both teams start well, all under the watchful eye of the hospital president.
Soo Hyun Freezes During Surgery
Just when things are going well, Soo Hyun causes a mistake that costs precious time. She freezes under the pressure, and it’s only after Hoon reassures her that she is capable of fixing the problem that she steps up and completes her task. While she may have caused her team to loose, both Hoon and Soo Hyun are just glad that the baby is able to survive.
Jae Joon’s Team Wins
Both babies live, but the fact remains that Jae Joon was faster than Hoon in completing the surgery.
Doctor Moon is not at all pleased with the results.
Apparently It’s Really Easy to Loose Someone in This Hospital
Seriously, the majority of this episode is spent following the characters while they search for someone in the hospital. It’s a giant game of cat and mouse, and all the circles started to make me go dizzy.
Here’s a breakdown:
1. Hoon is looking for Seung Hee now that he knows she is Jae Hee
2. Seung Hee is looking for Agent Cha to stop him from killing Hoon
3. Agent Cha is looking for Hoon to kill him for failing to win the competition
And 4. Soo Hyun is looking for Hoon to talk about the surgery
What’s the result of all this searching? Not a whole lot. The largest outcome is that Hoon reunites with Jae Hee for the first time with the conviction that she’s his lost girl friend. Unfortunately, a code blue distracts them from their long stares (not to mention the threat of Agent Cha who almost succeeded in shooting Hoon).
Jae Joon’s Team Botched the Operation
Just when we thought Hoon was doomed, it turns out Jae Joon’s surgery was not perfect after all. Hoon becomes the de facto winner when Jae Joon must go back to the operating room with the baby. Needless to say, Jae Joon is furious that he lost the competition.
Of course, Doctor Moon is a very happy man with this turn of events!
The Prime Minister Wears Teddy Bear PJs
I don’t think this is important, but it’s too strange not to mention. Who knew the Prime Minister would sleep in such clothes?
Hoon Once Again Chases After Seung Hee
The hospital continues to prove to be too large to pinpoint the location of a particular person.
I swear, this hospital is just a labyrinth in disguise!
Hoon then falls for the bait and ends up following after Seung Hee’s distinctive yellow sports car.
Dramatic Reunion
Surprisingly, Hoon’s search leads him to his home.
He walks in to find Jae Hee waiting in his room, smiling at him like nothing else matters in the world.
Hoon holds onto her tightly, trying to take in the reality of the situation.
This is the moment he’s been waiting for since their tragic separation in Hungry.
As you’d expect, they quickly take advantage of their reunion with some heated kissing.
I must say this was quite a good kiss scene for a drama! I may not love the pairing, but I can sure appreciate the acting.
Hoon’s Dream of Happiness
We next see Hoon enjoying a wonderful morning with Jae Hee. It’s everything he ever dreamed of.
They make funny faces,
eat curry with seaweed,
and get to stare at each other with goofy grins.
Sadly, this happiness lasts only until Hoon wakes up from his dream.
Episode 9 concludes with Hoon frantically seraching for Jae Hee who has disappeared from his home.
An important note, Agent Cha was waiting in the car while Jae Hee was with Hoon. I’m almost convinced Jae Hee’s kisses were driven by her mission, not by her love. Poor Hoon has some hard truths coming for him sooner or later…
In Conclusion
I’m worried that the Hoon who gasps Jae Hee’s name every other sentence will be returning in the next episode. I know he’s heartbroken and 100% committed to her well being, but I really prefer the goofy, happy-go-lucky Hoon to the whiney, desperate person he becomes around Seung Hee/Jae Hee.
All the searching and uncertainty is starting to get on my nerves. The mysteries only grow larger with each episode and I’m ready for a couple concrete answers. Is this Jae Hee/Seung Hee dilemma really going to go on for 20 episodes?
What did you think of episode 9? How did you react to the heated kiss? Will any good come from it?

this episode was a turn off for me, really. the chasing after Jae Hee was too redundant and boring. I feel like whenever Jae/Seung hee is involved or mentioned, Hoon turns into this mopey thing running around useless. *sigh* way to kill an awesome character.
